Outcome Based Education (OBE)
GIET Engineering College follows the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework to ensure quality teaching, learning, and continuous improvement in academic processes. OBE is a student-centric approach that focuses on achieving clearly defined outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills, and attitudes by the time students complete their programs.
In alignment with OBE principles, each program is designed with well-defined Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs). These outcomes are mapped with course outcomes to ensure that every component of the curriculum contributes effectively to the overall learning goals.
The teaching-learning process is supported by continuous assessment methods, including assignments, internal examinations, projects, and practical evaluations, to measure the attainment of outcomes. Feedback from stakeholders such as students, alumni, faculty, and industry experts is also considered for curriculum improvement.
The institution emphasizes the development of technical competence, problem-solving abilities, ethical values, and lifelong learning skills among students. Regular review and analysis of outcome attainment help in implementing corrective actions and enhancing academic quality.
By adopting Outcome-Based Education, GIET Engineering College ensures that graduates are well-prepared to meet industry requirements, pursue higher education, and contribute effectively to society.
